Getting Started For Learners

How to enroll in a course on BetaLMS

A complete walkthrough of how to find, enroll in, and start learning from any course on BetaLMS — from sign‑up to your first certificate.

Enrolling in your first course on BetaLMS is meant to feel simple. Whether you have been studying online for years or this is your very first online course, the platform is designed so that anyone — student, working professional, or curious learner — can get from a sign‑up page to an active lesson in a few minutes.

This guide walks through every step in detail. We will cover creating your account, browsing the catalog, picking the right course, enrolling (free or paid), starting the first lesson, and tracking your progress so you eventually earn your certificate of completion.

Step 1: Create your free learner account

BetaLMS uses a single, free account that lets you enroll in courses from any academy on the platform. You do not have to register separately for each school or instructor.

  1. Visit the homepage and click Sign up in the top‑right corner.
  2. On the first screen, choose I want to learn. This tells the system to create a learner account rather than an instructor or institution.
  3. Enter your full name, email address, and a strong password.
  4. Confirm your email if prompted, then sign in.

That single account gives you access to your dashboard, your enrolled courses, your live class history and your downloadable certificates.

Step 2: Browse the catalog

From the top navigation choose Find courses. The catalog lists every published course on BetaLMS, with filters for:

  • Category — for example design, business, programming, language, or personal development.
  • Price — free, paid, or a specific range.
  • Format — pre‑recorded lessons, live cohorts, or hybrid.
  • Skill level — beginner, intermediate, advanced.

You can also search by keyword. Typing "python", "branding" or "public speaking" surfaces matching courses instantly. Each course card shows the cover image, instructor, short description, price, language and a short preview of the curriculum.

Step 3: Pick the right course

Before enrolling, click into the course detail page and look for four signals:

  1. Clear learning outcomes. Good courses list specific things you will be able to do by the end.
  2. A detailed curriculum. Skim the modules — does the order make sense? Are the topics deep enough?
  3. The instructor's bio. Look for relevant experience, not just credentials.
  4. Reviews from previous learners. Real reviews mention specific lessons or projects.

If anything is unclear, every course page has a Contact instructor button so you can ask a question before you commit.

Step 4: Enroll

If the course is free, click Enroll for free. You are added to the course instantly and the first lesson opens in your browser.

If the course is paid, click Buy course and complete checkout. BetaLMS supports the main local and international payment options used by your region. After payment is confirmed:

  • Your dashboard will show the new course under My learning.
  • You will receive a confirmation email with a direct link.
  • A receipt is stored under your profile for future reference.

Step 5: Start your first lesson

Open My learning from the top navigation. Click the course to open the course player. The player has three panels:

  • The video / content area in the centre.
  • The curriculum on the right with checkmarks as you complete lessons.
  • A notes & resources panel underneath where instructors share files, slides and links.

Lessons can include video, written text, downloadable resources, quizzes and live sessions. Quizzes test what you just learned and store your scores in your transcript.

Step 6: Track your progress

Your progress bar updates automatically as you complete lessons and quizzes. From your dashboard you can see:

  • Percentage of each course completed.
  • Time spent learning this week.
  • Upcoming live sessions you have signed up for.
  • Certificates that are ready or in progress.

When you reach 100% completion, your certificate of completion becomes available to download as a PDF and to share on your professional networks.

Step 7: Join live sessions and discussions

Many BetaLMS courses include scheduled live classes. To join one:

  1. Open the course and click Live sessions.
  2. Pick the session you want and click Add to my schedule.
  3. At the scheduled time, click Join now. The classroom opens in your browser — no download required.

You can also engage with classmates inside the Community tab, ask questions in the comments under each lesson, and message instructors directly when they have enabled that option.

Common questions

Do I have to finish a course by a deadline? Most self‑paced courses give you lifetime access; live cohorts have specific dates.

Can I switch devices? Yes — your progress syncs across phone, tablet and laptop.

What if I lose interest? You can unenroll from any free course. For paid courses, every instructor publishes their refund policy on the course page.

Final word

Enrolling on BetaLMS is the easy part. The real value comes from showing up consistently, completing the practice exercises, and engaging with your instructor and classmates. Every learner who finishes their first course usually finishes a second one within a month — momentum is the secret.

Pick a course today, block 20 minutes a day on your calendar, and start. Your future self will thank you.
